The diaspora of developing countries are a potent force for development. The African diaspora achieves this through remittances, promotion of trade, investments, research, innovation, and knowledge and technology transfers. Some African countries are pursuing policies to develop links with Africans abroad and actively encourage them to return to use their skills, knowledge, and financial capital to engage in development of Africa. Africa Opportunity Platform believes in these exchanges of knowledge, skills and power. We believe that the African diaspora has the capacity to develop, change and invest in the continent. We want to become a trusted resource for the diaspora investing back home. And also provide a way for African governments to publicize their current development initiatives and incentives being offered in order to encourage the diaspora to return home.
